CASA SILLAGE: TANIA ORELLANA’S VISION FOR A MULTIDISCIPLINARY FUTURE

Tania Orellana stands out for an original approach — one that places design, strategy, and storytelling on equal footing. A fashion designer who has developed a multidisciplinary practice that moves fluidly between creative direction, brand development, and cultural positioning. Rather than viewing fashion as a single discipline, she understands it as a living ecosystem shaped by image, narrative, product, identity, and audience. This broader perspective allows her to contribute not only to the making of beautiful objects, but to the construction of brands with depth, coherence, and longevity.

In fashion today, being multidisciplinary is no longer a luxury — it is a necessity. The industry demands professionals who can think across boundaries, connect creativity with commercial reality, and translate a brand’s essence into experiences that resonate across different platforms and markets. A multidisciplinary mind brings agility, relevance, and a sharper understanding of how fashion operates within a larger cultural and economic context. It enables designers and creatives to move beyond aesthetics alone, engaging with communication, curation, innovation, and strategy in ways that strengthen both artistic expression and brand growth. For Tania, this approach is central to how she works. Her sensibility is shaped by a refined eye for detail, an international outlook, and a strong awareness of the evolving codes of luxury. She is especially interested in creating work that feels both emotionally charged and strategically precise — projects that remain faithful to a brand’s identity while opening it to new audiences and opportunities. Through collaboration and adaptability, she brings an inclusive and forward-thinking vision to every stage of the creative process.

This philosophy extends into Casa Sillage, her global platform conceived as a space for artistic exchange, editorial projects, and community-building. More than a brand, Casa Sillage is envisioned as a cultural home — one that connects creatives, industry voices, and like-minded audiences across Europe, the United States, Mexico, and Latin America. Divided into The Studio, dedicated to curatorial and collaborative work, and The Club, an invitation-only network of aligned creative minds, the project reflects Tania’s belief that the future of fashion lies in connection: between disciplines, between geographies, and between ideas:

TPM: Having experienced the dynamics of the fashion retail space, how do you plan to leverage this knowledge in The Studio’s projects under Casa Sillage to drive successful artistic collaborations?

Having experienced the dynamics of the fashion retail space, I’ve learned how to understand audiences, build narratives around products, and create emotional connections that go beyond the act of purchase. With Casa Sillage, and specifically through The Studio, I want to leverage this knowledge to design collaborations that balance artistry with strategy. The Studio will act as a laboratory where creative visions are translated into impactful experiences, shaped with the same attention to detail and audience engagement that retail demands, but elevated into an artistic realm. By combining the pragmatism of retail with the freedom of creative experimentation, I aim to ensure that every collaboration resonates deeply, feels relevant, and achieves both cultural and emotional success.

TPM: Your past work has undoubtedly informed your approach to creating captivating fashion narratives. Can you discuss a particular lesson from your journey that you intend to apply in curating projects within The Studio?

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned from my journey in fashion is the power of storytelling. From the very beginning of creating my own brand, everything started with my personal story — each collection was a thread reflecting the chapter of my life at that moment, connecting to questions, processes, and experiences I was living. Every detail, from the idea to the design, the product, and the presentation, followed this narrative thread. In curating projects within The Studio, I plan to apply this same approach: ensuring that every collaboration has a clear narrative, where each creative choice contributes to an immersive and meaningful experience. This way, we move beyond presenting products and instead craft moments that resonate emotionally, spark curiosity, and invite participants to connect with the work on a deeper level.

This is also the essence of Casa Sillage, this human side of connection, and it will undoubtedly be present in every project within The Studio.

TPM: As part of The Studio’s mission, how will you encourage collaborative relationships between established designers and emerging talents? What kind of mentorship opportunities do you envision?

At The Studio, collaboration thrives on differences. I want to share something that recently inspired me: an artistic work by Chiharu Shiota, where children were asked what they would do if they made the rules of the world. Their answers were incredibly diverse, showing that what matters isn’t experience or age, but going beyond. While of course recognition and reputation are understood, these remain personal choices for each artist: who they want to connect with, who they want to inspire, and above all, what they are seeking. This is the essence of The Studio: a space where every perspective matters, mentorship flows both ways, and everyone supports each other, creating unexpected, transformative creative outcomes that expand possibilities and connections for all.

What unique approaches to storytelling do you plan to explore in your curatorial projects at The Studio, and how do you hope these resonate with audiences on an emotional level?

At The Studio, storytelling will go beyond visuals or products, it will be immersive and multisensory. I plan to combine visuals, sound, movement, and space to create experiences that audiences don’t just observe, but feel and remember. The goal is to spark emotional resonance, curiosity, and reflection, leaving the audience with a sense of connection, wonder, and belonging. This aligns with the essence of Casa Sillage: crafting moments that linger and inspire.

When it comes to selecting projects for The Studio, what specific factors will guide your decision-making process to ensure they align with the overarching vision of Casa Sillage?

Project selection will be guided by alignment with Casa Sillage’s core values: human connection, artistic experimentation, cultural dialogue, and emotional impact. I consider the vision and intention behind the work, its ability to spark meaningful experiences, and the potential for collaboration across disciplines.

You’ve mentioned your commitment to fostering creativity. How do you plan to create a collaborative environment within The Studio that sparks innovation while respecting each artist’s personal style?

At The Studio, every project will be rooted in the unique DNA of each brand or artists, and this is where the magic happens. Connecting their story with our vision allows us to craft experiences that are truly different and unforgettable. While each collaboration starts from the personal style and identity of the artist, we use that as a foundation to develop the project, expanding it into innovative, immersive experiences that resonate with audiences on a deeper level. This approach ensures that creativity flows naturally while honoring the integrity of the brands.

What do you believe will be the most significant impact of The Studio on the fashion industry, and how do you envision it shaping future trends and collaboration in the sector?

I believe the most significant impact of The Studio on the fashion industry will be redefining how brands connect, collaborate, and grow, without being limited to a product, a space, or anything at all. From my own journey, one of the turning points for my brand was expanding into other countries and connecting with markets I hadn’t known before. That experience showed me how powerful it is for a brand to break barriers, reach new audiences, and foster connections without limits.

Fashion has always relied on events, they have been there forever, often repeating the same formats. The difference lies in making them unique, meaningful, and truly connected to the identity of each brand and the people experiencing them. For me, events are not just showcases; they are powerful tools to grow, inspire, and transform. Today, people seek experiences more than products, and when both are combined, the result is something unforgettable and lasting. The Studio aims to bring this approach to life, creating moments that inspire, connect, and elevate both brands and artists in meaningful ways.
