INTERVIEW WITH FASHION DESIGNER JOSE ORTIZ

Jose Ortiz’s diverse line is represented by many collections, which the designer has developed from ideas to realities throughout his career as a Fashion Designer. His goal is to create exclusive designs that each wearer can adapt to freely express their own unique and wonderful style.

The quintessential skill in any industry is creativity. Jose is a great fashion designer, able to make something out of anything. He is able to transform the two dimensional idea into a three-dimensional art piece. The process from conceptualization to completion takes a lot of creativity and determination. When you look at his fabrics, you know that Mozee is able to deliver the best and keep striving for excellence.

INTERVIEW WITH FASHION DESIGNER JOSE ORTIZ 

 

When did you first realize you wanted to launch your own label?

I realized my desire to launch my own label in 2016 while I was in school pursuing my Bachelor’s degree; prior to that I had been designing but never actually knew what I wanted to do with my designs. Once I began creating my label I found out what I actually wanted to offer my customers.  

If you could go back and tell yourself one thing before beginning your career what would it be? 

I would go back and tell myself to not back down on my goals and to have the courage to pursue them. 

How do you want your clients to feel when wearing MOZZE Designs pieces and on what occasions can be worn?

I want my customers/clients to feel like they’re wearing something that represents themselves. My designs can be worn in any special occasion or daily routines. The brand offers one of a kind gowns that can be worn to special events or tops and bottoms that can be worn casually as an everyday look or dressed up for a night out. 

Can you tell us how your custom creations make a difference?

My custom creations specializes in making sure the customers’ needs are met. I make sure that every detail is done properly and that when they wear my design they feel comfortable in it. 

There is one important person in your life, who pushes and motivates you to believe in yourself?

My greatest motivation comes from My Mother, she is the most important person in my life. She passed a year ago but her impact in my ability to accomplish my goals succeeds her time on earth. 

Tell us how your feelings influence the creativity process?

My  feelings play an important role in my designing process. Mozze is based on important moments in my life. Either bad moments and traumas to the best moments and happiness. Every lesson learned is portrayed through my designs. 

What happens to those pieces that didn’t get sold? 

I usually keep them safe in storage and always try to push the older designs on my social platforms for any customer that is looking for that specific look of design.

How far do you go in terms of sustainability?

I go far when it comes to sustainability in my brand. Most of it in the terms of my designs not being disposable. They are made with very strong craftsmanship and not done in factories where a lot of waste goes when creating fashion. 

What are the next steps for your label, in order to grow up more?

My next steps for my label will be to grow my following and be able to reach more people around the globe. I would love to start planning fashion shows from Paris, Milan, London, and other major fashion capitals.
