GUZEMA FINE JEWELRY PRESENTS SPADOK COLLECTION

Gold, amber, and coral embroidery: Guzema Fine Jewelry presents the new authentic SPADOK (heritage)collection.

Guzema Fine Jewelry, a Ukrainian jewelry brand, released a new SPADOK jewelry collection. The collection consists of a necklace made of coral and amber with a gold pendant in the shape of a viburnum cluster embroidered with red threads, a brooch, a mono earring, and other symbolic items.

The collection is inspired by the national cultural heritage – embroidery, natural jewelry materials, and the viburnum, a symbol of the native land and home. The pendant is presented in the form of a pixel. This is another subtle motif that refers to the pixel pattern of the military uniforms of Ukrainian soldiers and reminds us that the war for our independence is still going on.

Valeriya Guzema, the designer and founder of the brand, on how the collection was created and why it was called SPADOK (eng. heritage): Ukraine’s cultural heritage, which has been shaping over centuries, even under oppression, affects the creative industries. We, creators, are immersing ourselves in the nation’s roots, paying closer attention to Ukrainian identity. For example, in this collection, we use embroidery, a technique for creating clothes and household items. Many generations have passed on this technique from one generation to another. And our ancestors wore jewelry made of coral and amber. In fact, when I was a child, my grandmother gave me an amber ring. So, honoring the past, I combined everything I inherited from my ancestors in this new capsule. My “SPADOK”.

Valeriya Guzema thinks that the jewelry passed on to us from generation to generation carries unique energy and national spirit. The designer believes modern Ukrainian women will pass the pieces from the SPADOK collection to their children and grandchildren as a family heirloom.
